Wilson stretched his long legs
on his new couch and surveyed his surroundings with satisfaction.
This was his first real home and he felt sure he would be happy
here.
He had already decided the
kitchen would serve his needs well; now he wanted to enjoy his first
day in the living room.
Not content to stay just
lounging, he languidly moved around the spacious room looking
critically at it from all angles. Approvingly, he dropped onto a
cozy chair in one corner and admired the matching ottoman pushed a
little closer to the red brick fireplace.
Contentedly, he flopped down on
the cushioned carpet in front of the fireplace; this would certainly
be a favorite spot this coming winter. He felt his eyes closing but,
not wanting quite yet to waste the day dozing, he decided to check
out the view from the heavily draped window, now open to let in a
cool autumn breeze. This was a little disappointing as, from his
sixth story apartment, there wasn’t much to see except the windows
of the tall building opposite his.
Curious as to what he might see
of the ground below from this height, he leaned a little harder
against the screen.
Suddenly, it gave way! He
clutched at the drape trying desperately to break his fall - to no
avail. Wilson went plummeting down!
They say that cats live nine
lives – will this be one for Wilson?
