Jo Dennison se especializó en Arte mientras se
formaba para profesora.
Ella desarrolló interés en los tejidos mientras
diseñaba y hacia trajes para grupos de aficionados al teatro.

cuadros.
Ella participó en exposiciones en el Sur de
Inglaterra, ella se mudó a Andalucía hace diecisiete años.
Desarrolló un repentino interés por la maquina de
bordado y tuvo la suerte de tener como profesora a Irene Bradbury,
una artista profesional en textiles.
Pero ahora Josefina prefiere fabricar grandes
tapices con telas bordadas .Cada uno tiene un tiempo de elaboración de
seis meses.
Ella pretende contar una historia en estos
cuadros con muchos detalles; una cara, un pecho, un brazo que con
frecuencia están rellenos y superpuestos.
Las fotos no proyectan la textura y complicación en la elaboración de
los bordados.
La historia de Perséfora
y el nacimiento de las estaciones se muestra en tres tapices. Se
terminaron en el verano de 2010 y se verán por primera vez
en su taller durante La GIRA Anual de 2011.
Jo trabaja ahora en una nueva obra. La caída de Lucifer. El
diseño de esta también estará en la Gira. Este trabajo se terminara en
el verano de 2011.

Jo Dennison specialized in Art whilst training as
a teacher.
She developed an interest in textiles whilst
designing and making costumes for amateur theatrical groups and she
began to incorporate fabrics in her paintings.
She contributed to exhibitions in the South of
England before moving to Andalucía seventeen years ago.
An earlier interest in the use of free machine
stitching in her work was encouraged when she took lessons with Irene
Bradbury a professional textile artist.
Recently Jo has begun to make large wall hangings
of fabrics heavily decorated with hand and free machine embroidery.
Each one can take up to six months to make from design to completion.
She likes to tell a story in these pictures which
are heavily detailed with a face, breast, arm often padded out.
Photographs are not able to clearly show the texture and embroidery.
The story
of Persephone and the Birth of the Seasons is depicted in three
hangings. This was completed the summer of 2010 and will be exhibited
for the first time in her Workshop during the 2011 Annual Walkabout.
Jo is now working on a new hanging. The Fall of Lucifer·. the design
for this will also be on display. the work to be completed by the
Summer of 2011.
